Happy Dutch-American Friendship Day!
Did you know The Netherlands is the United States' longest unbroken, peaceful relationship with any foreign country. The Netherlands was also the first foreign nation to salute the American flag on November 16, 1776.

I never heard of that day before :)
I didn't know that, cheers. This might be my American ignorance, but I don't think I know what the Netherlands flag looks like. I get them mixed up, isn't it kind of like the French flag but flipped?
I didn't know the day existed either... and I'm usually up on these sorts of things...
I knew the fact about the Dutch-American friendship though. Not many Americans do, I didn't even myself until I read it on a Dutch site. Heck, the way the quality of most of our history classes are, we're lucky if people know what president George Washington was...
I would actually confuse the flags of the Netherlands and Luxembourg if they were side by side... they're pretty much identical except Luxembourg's blue is lighter.
Many people also don't know about the Dutch-American Friendship Treaty which allows small business owners to set up operations in the USA as long as they meet minimal criteria.
