The New Citizen

One day I hope to be blogging about this ;) This weblog is from a Dutchy that moved to the States six years ago and filed to become an American citizen.

Thanks for the link, it's an interesting story for me as well, since I've been in the Us for four years now. Keep in mind though that in your and my situation, when neither of us is an American citizen, you are not allowed to hold onto your Dutch citizenship when you decide to become an American. That would be too big a sacrifice for me, even though I do at this point consider America home.

And keep in mind that you have to be in the US for six year with a Green Card. So the temporarily visa you have doesn't count :(

I just gave up my Dutch Citizenship in order to get my US citizenship; I have no remorse, I've lived here since I was 18 (30 now) and don't feel Dutch or have any connections there...

Hey Freezem:

You will get to come here!!! I am praying for you and your girl Sweetie, participate in the next lottery!!!! Ik zal voor je Thumben!!!!

I am pulling for you man! I will be sending more sweets your way to get you guys acclimated BEFORE you get here! hahahahahaha! I will do what I can on my end to help. Thumbs up and chin high!

I hope that dream comes true for you and Sweety! That would be SO cool to have ya'll as neighbors! LOL
